The concept behind these carvings is for the idol to not only serve as a sculpture but also
function as an incense burner. A chamber is carved into the back of the sculpture which houses a cone shaped incense.
From here a small passage runs to the mouth or nostrils. So when the incense is lit it travels through
the tiki and when viewed from the front appears as if the idol is breathing smoke. Very cool! These works take more time to
create and therefore cost a little more but the effect created by the burning incense is well worth it.
